Lasso Wins Run-off Election In Ecuador

Guillermo Lasso Mendoza won the presidential run-off election on 11 April 2021 with 52.51% of the votes compared to the 47.49% taken by contender Andres Arauz Galarza, according to details posted by Ecuador’s National Electoral Council (CNE). The results reflect 99.01% of the votes counted in the Andean country as of April 12, the CNE said.

Ecuador’s Production Reaches 495,438 B/D

Ecuador oil production reached an estimated 495,438 barrels per day on 13 April 2021, according to details revealed by the country’s Ministry of Energy and Non-Renewable Natural Resources (MERNNR).

Of the total, state-controlled EP PetroEcuador produced 397,701 b/d while private companies produced the remaining 97,737 b/d.

On the same date, Ecuador’s SOTE and OCP were transporting 508,089 b/d or 62.7% of there combined capacity of 810,000 b/d.
