(Energy Analytics Institute, Piero Stewart, 24.May.2020) — Venezuela’s President Nicolás Maduro announced gratitude to the Iran Republic for the shipments of gasoline and fuel additives that began to arrive to the OPEC country.
“The Fortune tanker arrived in Venezuela, the first of five ships that brings gasoline and supplies to make fuel in Venezuela,” state oil company Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) announced 24 May 2020, citing comments from Maduro made during a Meeting of the Presidential Commission for the Prevention of Covid-19 broadcast on Venezuelan television.
“I want to thank, from the heart of the people of Venezuela, the people of Iran, its president Hasan Rohaní, my friend and companion and the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, for all their solidarity, support, courage and decision,” Maduro said.
