(Pemex, 11.Nov.2019) â In the light of the tidal wave of false rumors and press releases, articles and social media posts that claim there was an attack on the internal computing systems of PetrĂłleos Mexicanos, the company reports the following:
PetrĂłleos Mexicanos is operating normally. The companyâs operating and production systems are protected and have not been compromised.
As it happens in every large company and government agency, Pemexâs internal network is often on the receiving end of threats and cyber attacks, none of which have yielded any results to date.
Yesterday, Sunday November 10th, the State-owned productive company detected attempts at cybernetic attacks that were neutralized and affected fewer than 5% of the companyâs personal computers. Despite the above, Pemex reaffirms that fuel production, supply and inventory are guaranteed.
Pemex is reinforcing its cyber security and urges the oil workersâ community and the general public to avoid spreading rumors that might be harmful to the companyâs image.
