MONTERREY, MEXICO (By Isaac Silvestre, Editores LatinPetroleum, 8.Sep.2026, Words: 161) — Saavi Energía S.à r.l. successfully closed the previously announced transaction with Grupo México, S.A.B. de C.V.

The transaction combines Saavi Energía’s facilities with Grupo México’s power generation assets, creating a diversified energy platform comprising 10 strategically located power plants across high-demand regions in Mexico, one mobile power generation business and three gas compression stations.

The platform has 4.5 GW of combined power generation capacity, Saavi said on 8 Sep. 2026 in an official statement.

Following the closing, Grupo México owns a 70% stake in Saavi Energía, while Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), a subsidiary of BlackRock, owns the remaining 30%.

Saavi Energía expects the combination to strengthen its financial position, enhance its scale and operational capabilities, and reinforce its position as the leading power generation platform in Mexico.
