This, amidst the worst energy crisis the island has ever experienced.
Cuban authorities attribute the situation to the tightening of US sanctions and the oil embargo imposed by US president Donald Trump, which has limited the import of fuel, parts, and essential supplies needed to maintain the water infrastructure.
