PANAMA CITY, PANAMA (By Piero Stewart, Energy Analytics Institute, 7.May.2026, Words: 443) — Venezuela said a safe operation was carried out to “contain, remove, transport overland, and ship the remaining nuclear material” from the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research (IVIC) to the docks of Puerto Cabello.
The operation, carried out between 18-29 Apr. 2026, involved the Ministry of Science and Technology and relevant national agencies including the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), part of the US Department of Energy (DOE), and the UK, responsible for managing specialized maritime transport.
