Petrobras eyes 10 FPSOs by 2029 with 1.8 MMb/d of production capacity

MEXICO CITY, MEXICO (Pietro D. Pitts, Energy Analytics Institute, 10.Dec.2024, Words: 1,007) — Rio de Janeiro-based Petrobras has an eye on 17 floating production storage offloading (FPSO) vessels over the near-to-middle term with a total production capacity of 2.876 million barrels per day (MMb/d).  

In particular, Petrobras aims to implement 10 new production systems by 2029. These 10 systems will have a total production capacity of 1.846 MMb/d and include state-of-the-art technologies that allow for greater efficiency and lower emissions. Importantly, 9 of the 10 systems have already been contracted, Petrobras said 21 Nov. 2024 in its most recent quarterly operational and financial statements.
