“We are experiencing a World Cup for everyone. Because those who haven’t been able to go to the stadium are able to enjoy it in many other ways. That’s what the World Cup is all about: showcasing Mexico and Mexican culture,” Alcalde said on 17 Jun. 2026 during the morning presser hosted by Mexico’s president Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo. “Many more of us understand it this way and are expressing our appreciation for the beauty of our country through social media.”
