Moody’s downgrades credit ratings of the CFE and 8 financial institutions 

MONTERREY, MEXICO (By Isaac Silvestre, Energy Analytics Institute, 21.May.2026, Words: 228) — Moody’s downgraded the credit ratings of the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) and 8 financial institutions as a result of the downgrade of Mexico’s investment grade. 

Moody’s lowered CFE’s senior unsecured foreign currency ratings to Baa3 from Baa2 and affirmed its base credit assessment (BCA) at ba3.
