BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA (By Steve Stewart, Energy Analytics Institute, 16.Mar.2026, Words: 99) — Seadrill Limited announced Sonadrill Holding Ltd, its 50:50 joint venture with an affiliate of Sonangol E.P., has been awarded a contract extension.
Seadrill earns a management fee for providing management, operational and technical support to Sonadrill.
A 7-well priced option for the ultra-deepwater drillship Sonangol Quenguela has been exercised, extending operations in Angola by approximately 480 days and committing the rig into Jun. 2028, Seadrill said on 16 Mar. 2026 in an official statement.
