— The US and Israel launched air strikes on Iran w/ massive explosions rocking Tehran and smoke rising in an area where the Iranian president’s office is located. US president Donald Trump announced ‘major combat operations’ in Iran in a video broadcast via major US media  outlets. “The United States military is undertaking a massive and ongoing operation to prevent this very wicked, radical dictatorship from threatening America and our core national security interests. We are going to destroy their missiles and raze their missile industry to the ground it,” Trump said.

MIDDLE EAST

— The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia issued a statement related to the escalations in the Middle East stemming from an initial attack on Iran by the US. “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia condemns and denounces in strongest terms the blatant Iranian aggression and the flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and Jordan. The Kingdom affirms its full solidarity with and unwavering support for the brotherly countries, and its readiness to place all its capabilities at their disposal in support of any measures they may undertake. It also warns of the grave consequences resulting from the continued violation of states’ sovereignty and the principles of international law.”
