EAI brief: Petroecuador supplies LPG to Galápagos Islands residents

BOGOTÁ, COLOMBIA (By Ana Sanches, Energy Analytics Institute, 3.Dec.2025, Words: 120) — Ecuador’s national government, through state-owned Petroecuador, is boosting the productive development of the Galápagos Islands with the continuous supply of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

LPG cylinders are placed in containers for transport to the loading dock and subsequently shipped to the cantons of San Cristóbal, Santa Cruz, and Isabela, Petroecuador announced on 3 Dec. 2025 in an official statement. 

Other highlights: 

— Petroecuador delivers LPG to 28,500+ residents of the Galápagos province, and 

— Petroecuador delivers shipments of approximately 15,000 gas cylinders every 35 days.
