EAI brief: MEEI officials with Hungary ambassador Balázs Heincz

PANAMA CITY, PANAMA (By Piero Stewart, Energy Analytics Institute, 7.Nov.2025, Words: 245) — The co-head of the Trinidad and Tobago Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries (MEEI) Ernesto Kesar along with deputy permanent secretary (Ag.) Marc Rudder and international relations and affairs advisor to the minister Sheena Gosine, welcomed the ambassador of Hungary Balázs Heincz during a courtesy call held on 5 Nov. 2025, at the MEEI’ head office at the International Waterfront Centre, Port-of-Spain.

The discussions focused on efforts to strengthen the bilateral relationship between Trinidad and Hungary.

Discussions focused on key areas for cooperation within the energy sectors, the MEEI announced on 7 Nov. 2025 in an official statement.

Other highlights include: 

— Kesar welcomed the opportunity for collaboration and reaffirmed that Trinidad remains open for business,
— the meeting identified several potential areas of mutual interest, including liquefied natural gas (LNG) development, carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS), as well as solar energy deployment,

— both parties agreed that these areas present significant opportunities for sustainable energy growth and technology exchange, and
— the session concluded with a mutual commitment to continue dialogue and work towards formalizing and deepening commitments with further relevant instruments.
