HOUSTON, TEXAS (By Ofelia Paredes, Energy Analytics Institute, 26.Oct.2025, Words: 214) â Centerpoint Energy has restored essential services to all its customers affected by severe weekend storms in Houston.
“We are pleased to share that electric service has now been fully restored to essentially all customers impacted by the two waves of severe storms that swept through the Greater Houston area this weekend,” Centerpoint announced on 26 Oct. 2025 in an official statement.
“For those who were affected by the adverse weather conditions, we appreciate your patience as we worked to resolve your outages. At their peak, these widespread storms impacted fewer than 7% of CenterPoint’s 2.9 million electric customers in the region. Our dedicated frontline workers and contractors worked around the clock to restore power safely and as quickly as possible,â Centerpoint said.
Counterpoint said the weekends storms served as a real-world test of the investments it is continuously making to strengthen its electric grid and enhance its resilience.
“While the impact we observed was primarily due to localized equipment damage and falling trees and branches, the speed and effectiveness of our response are a direct testament to the progress were making with our Greater Houston Resilience Initiative (GHRI),” Centerpoint said.
