Argent LNG working to secure offtake deals with 2 European countries

BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA (By Steve Stewart, Energy Analytics Institute, 17.Sep.2025, Words: 200) — Argent LNG, which has already secured an agreement to supply Bangladesh with up to 5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of liquefied natural gas (LNG), is currently working to secure offtake commitments from 2 European countries.

Said deals aim to increase American presence in the global LNG marketplace and drive American energy dominance, 6 lawmakers wrote in a joint letter addressed to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) chairman David Rosner

The letter expressed support for “the timely processing of the permit application submitted to the FERC for the Argent LNG Port Fourchon project.”

The Argent LNG terminal is a crucial project due to its capacity to produce up to 25 MTPA of LNG upon project completion and its unparalleled access to existing infrastructure and shipping routes in the Gulf of America.

The initial phase of the Argent LNG terminal is set to directly invest $10bn in southeast Louisiana, and construction of the terminal will generate approximately 3,000 jobs while maintaining an upwards of 600 jobs during permanent operations, according to Argent LNG.
