PANAMA CITY, PANAMA (By Piero Stewart, Energy Analytics Institute, 18.Aug.2025, Words: 305) — EP Petroecuador and the National Petroleum Corporation of China (CNPC) signed a specialized contract for the reconditioning of wells off the coast of Ecuador.
Activities will be conducted through the use of the self-lifting platform type jack up, with the aim of substantially increasing the national production of natural gas in the Amistad field. This historic event will mark the return of this type of operations to the only offshore base in Ecuador, after more than a decade.
