PANAMA CITY, PANAMA (By Piero Stewart, Energy Analytics Institute, 11.Aug.2025, Words: 780) — Venezuela’s executive vice president and hydrocarbon minister Delcy Rodríguez informed that the OPEC country submitted a new document to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) that presents additional evidence of its rights and historical titles over the Guayana Esequiba, also known as the Essequibo.
“Venezuela has also reaffirmed its historic position of not recognizing the jurisdiction of the ICJ to settle this territorial controversy and, consequently, will not accept any ruling that may be issued,” Rodríguez announced on 11 Aug. 2025 in a post on social media.
