PANAMA CITY, PANAMA (By Piero Stewart, Energy Analytics Institute, 25.Jul.2025, Words: 197) — EP Petroecuador completed construction of the Trans-Ecuadorian Pipeline System (SOTE) bypass in the Loco River area, Napo province, and immediately resumed safe pumping of crude oil.
This intervention was one of the preventive measures EP Petroecuador took in response to the increasing erosion caused by heavy rains and increased river flow, which put the pipeline infrastructure and surrounding area at risk.
