Australia was the second largest exporter with 81 MT, while Qatar was the third with 77.2 MT. Russia remained the fourth largest exporter at 33.5 MT.
China retained its place as the largest importer with a total of 78.6 MT in 2024, while Japan imported 67.7 MT. India imported 26.1 MT in 2024, up 4.2 MT compared to 2023, the International Gas Union (IGU) said in its 2025 World LNG report.
