LNG-powered  Quetzal starts inaugural commercial voyage in Guatemala

ATLANTA, GEORGIA (Chad Archey, Energy Analytics Institute, 14.Apr.2025) — Crowley‘s new containership Quetzal, which is powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), launched its inaugural commercial voyage. This voyage is the start of the company’s next era of faster, frequent ocean shipping with a new class of vessels for the US, Central America and the Dominican Republic. 

Quetzal initiated service on 11-12 Apr. 2025 at the Port of Santo Tomás, Guatemala. Importantly, Quetzal builds on Crowley’s commitment to advancing LNG as a solution in the maritime industry’s energy transition.
