PANAMA CITY, PANAMA (Piero Stewart, Energy Analytics Institute, 3.Apr.2025) — Colombia’s Ecopetrol reached an agreement with the Unuma Indigenous Association to end road blockades near its Rubiales and Caño Sur fields in the municipality of the Port of Gaitan (Meta department).
The blockades commenced on 31 Mar. 2025 for reasons unrelated to Ecopetrol’s operations, but affected drilling, production, maintenance, and hydrocarbon transport activities, the Bogotá-based state-owned company announced on 3 Apr. 2025 in an official statement.
