PANAMA CITY, PANAMA (Piero Stewart, Energy Analytics Institute, 26.Feb.2025) — SLB opened its new office in Paramaribo, Suriname.
Operating for over 60 years in Suriname, this new office further strengthens SLB’s local presence and commitment to in-country value, SLB announced on 26 Feb. 2025 in an official statement.

In Suriname, SLB is focused on pioneering technology and digital innovations to unlock the South American country’s full energy potential while aligning its local strategy with the country’s growing energy landscape and sustainable aspirations, the company said.

“This new office will enable us to drive customer performance, create opportunities for local talent, and embed sustainability in all our operations,” said SLB managing director for Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean Sharlene S. Seegoolam. “We look forward to building strong partnerships and contributing to Suriname’s growth in the energy sector.”
The opening ceremony was attended by Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname senior representatives including director downstream & power Eddy Fränkel.
“We have worked together with SLB for many years and are excited to have such a player present in Suriname for so long and now seeing opportunities to open a new office in the country,” Staatsolie CEO Annand Jagesar was quoted as saying in the statement. “The offshore of Suriname holds great promise and the presence of companies such as SLB is essential to develop any opportunity. Hence, we look forward to keeping on collaborating to mutual benefit.”
