MEXICO CITY, MEXICO (Fidencio Casillas, Energy Analytics Institute, 15.Jan.2025) â Mexico’s oil production averaged 1.586 million barrels per day (MMb/d) in 2024, down 4.2% from 1.655 MMb/d in 2023, according to the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
Mexico, while not a member of OPEC, is instead an oil and gas producing country that has signed on to the Declaration of Cooperation (DOC) with OPEC. The other 2 big DOC producers include Kazakhstan and Russia, which recorded average production of 1.529 MMb/d and 9.167 MMb/d respectively in 2024, the OPEC said 15 Jan. 2025 in its Monthly Oil Market Report (MOMR).
