(Fidencio Casillas, Energy Analytics Institute, 3.Jan.2025) — Mexico’s president Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo said payments to services providers of state-owned Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) commenced in Dec. 2024 and will continue in the first-quarter 2025.

“A mechanism was established for payments essentially between Jan., Feb. and Mar. for all the payments,” Sheinbaum said 3 Jan. 2025 during her daily morning mañanera or briefing the media from Mexico City, Mexico.

Not all of the providers received payments in Dec 2024, Sheinbaum said. But, she said Mexico would fulfill its obligations with the providers.
