Texas Hydrocarbon Industry at a Glance

Such that in calendar year 2023 its oil production represented 43% of the total US oil production, while its gas production represented 28% of the total US gas production, according to data compiled from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), the Texas Railroad Commission (TXRRC) and Texas Oil & Gas Association (TXOGA).

In 2023, to be exact, follows: total US oil production was 12.6 MMb/d and total US gas production was 113 Bcf/d, of which Texas oil production was 5.5 MMb/d and Texas marketed gas production was 31.8 Bcf/d.
