(Energy Analytics Institute, 3.Oct.2022) — Inflationary pressures, low economic growth, higher interest rates and investment uncertainty led to the fourth consecutive deterioration of business confidence in Mexico, the daily La Jornada reported on 3 October 2022, citing data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi by its Spanish acronym).

Business confidence in Mexico’s economic situation declined severely in September, according to the opinion of business managers in the manufacturing, construction, commerce and non-financial private services.

The Global Confidence Business Opinion Indicator (Igoec by its Spanish acronym) reached 45.4 points in September, down 6.5 points compared to September 2021, and below the threshold of 50 points that represents pessimistic terrain.
