(Energy Analytics Institute, 21.Feb.2022) — Crude oil and natural gas production from Argentina’s Neuquén Province grow in January 2022 owing to development of unconventional projects approved by the provincial government, according to Alejandro Rodrigo Monteiro, Neuquén’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources.
Neuquén’s oil production averaged 254,357 barrels per day in January 2022, up 47.21% compared to January 2021 while gas production averaged 80.7 million cubic meters per day (MMcm/d), up 29.86% compared to the same year ago month.
With respect to December 2021, the areas that contributed most to oil production growth were Loma Campana (YPF-Chevron) +6,057 b/d, Bajada del Palo Oeste (Vista) +3,449 b/d, Cruz de Lorena (Shell-GyP) +2,362 b/d and Coirón Amargo Sur Oeste (Shell-GyP) +1,368 b/d, Monteiro said 21 February 2022 in an post on social media.
In terms of gas, the areas that showed the most growth compared to December 2021 were Rincón del Mangrullo (YPF-Pampa) +1.23 MMcm/d, Sierra Chata (Pampa-Exxon) +0.6 MMcm/d and Aguada Pichana Oeste (PAE-YPF-Total) +0.54 MMcm/d, the minister added.
