(MEEI, 13.Jul.2021) — Trinidad and Tobago assumed the Presidency of the Latin American Energy Organisation (OLADE) for the period 2021-2022 at the meeting of Ministers held virtually in November 2020.

 In his capacity as President of OLADE, The Minister of Energy and Energy Industries and Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, the Honourable Stuart Young M.P. chaired the 55th Council of Experts meeting this morning, Tuesday 13th July 2021, virtually.

Trinidad and Tobago have been at the forefront of major initiatives of OLADE and has played a pivotal role in the development and approval of major decisions of the Organisation. Additionally, Trinidad and Tobago is also a founding member of OLADE, since inception in 1973, and also plays a leading role in the Caribbean and Latin American Energy sector. In this regard, we continue to actively support the policies and programmes of the Organisation. 

Through OLADE, Trinidad and Tobago benefits from various training programmes and has access to numerous journals and publications and is privy to accurate and regular energy related data-sets.
