Petrobras Hosts Inauguration Ceremony For New CEO

Petrobras hosted a swearing in ceremony on 19 April 2021 for its new CEO Joaquim Silva e Luna and other executives with the Rio de Janeiro-based oil giant. The new executive said the company would stay true to its plans to focus on activities offshore Brazil in the deep and ultra-deep waters and in particular the pre-salt formation.

Other government officials present at the event included Brazil’s mining and energy minister Bento Albuquerque, the president of Petrobras’ administrative council Eduardo Bacellar and ANP general director Rodolfo Saboia.

Aker Solutions Celebrates Mero 1 Project Last Delivery

Aker Solutions in Brazil celebrated the last delivery marking the end of the Mero 1 project for pre-salt exploration for Petrobras. The project offered a lighter XMT design and the first workover system delivery in the history of Aker Solutions Brazil. It also included remote management from the team which worked virtually due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Mero 1 ended with zero HSSE incidents, Aker said 19 April 2021 in a post on Instagram.
