Guyana Basins Summit Day 2 Recap

(Energy Advance, 18.Mar.2021) — The Guyana Basins Summit (GBS) was officially inaugurated by Hon. Albert R. Ramdin, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Business and Cooperation, government of the Republic of Suriname who discussed the need for a new paradigm on regional co-operation, a future to be built post oil and gas and how Guyana and Suriname’s strategic asset base can make them powerful players in the global political, financial and economic reality.

This was followed by another Ministerial keynote where Hon Dr. Ashni K. Singh, Minister of Finance, Ministry of Finance, Guyana spoke to Guyana’s global appeal and position as leading oil and gas investment destination.

The mornings ministerial keynotes set the scene for the days dialogue which covered sovereign wealth funds, building strong institutions for sustainable oil & gas regimes, accessing capital and financing midstream, downstream and infrastructure, services to support the oil & gas sector, the critical role of gas and women in Industry.
