(Energy Chamber, 21.May.2019) — Two years ago, the Energy Chamber of Trinidad and Tobago hosted its first Clean Energy Conference, an off-shoot from its Trinidad and Tobago Energy Conference which had for many years included a Green Energy Day. Given the direction in which the world is moving toward a low carbon future, the Clean Energy Conference has been re-named the Energy Efficiency and Renewables Conference and Tradeshow.

The event has grown since the first one in 2017 and will take place this year on June 10th and 11th at the Hilton Trinidad and Conference Centre. The intention of renaming the event is to place more emphasis on the current drive of the energy industry in Trinidad and Tobago – that is, a drive toward optimizing the natural gas supply through energy efficiency and increased levels of renewable energy on the national grid.

The theme this year is ‘Industry Collaboration for a Low Carbon Future’ and is intended to highlight opportunities for the energy sector to collaborate to find mutually beneficial ways to improve efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions.

Platinum sponsors of the event are The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited, BPTT and Shell Trinidad & Tobago Ltd. Our Silver sponsor is Trinidad Generation Unlimited (TGU).

The Keynote speakers at the Energy Efficiency and Renewables Conference will be Senator the Hon. Robert Le Hunte, Minister of Public Utilities and Sen. the Hon. Franklin Khan, Minister of Energy and Energy Industries. Feature speakers include Curtis Mohammed, President, NGC CNG, Orissa Forde Carrington, General Manager, Safety, Shell Trinidad and Tobago, Fernando Zuniga, Director for Central America and the Caribbean MPC Renewable Energies, Dr. Devon Gardner, Programme Manager – Energy, CARICOM Secretariat and Jay Borkland, Senior Engineering Manager – Renewables, Lloyds Register.

The conference will also feature a trade show to allow companies to showcase their capabilities in renewable energy, energy efficiency and environmental services.  To register as an attendee or book a booth, contact us at 6-ENERGY ext 21/26 or visit www.energynow.tt
