Vaca Muerta Breakeven Inside $40/bbl: Says YPF CEO

(Energy Analytics Institute, Aaron Simonsky, 12.Mar.2019) — The breakeven cost for Argentina’s Vaca Muerta shale play is currently inside $40/bbl compared to close to $60/bbl a couple of years ago, said YPF CEO Daniel González during CERAWeek by IHS Markit in Houston.

The executive also said that at the company’s most important field, Loma Campana, the breakeven cost was is currently inside $35/bbl.
