Petrobras platform P-79 arrives at the Búzios field

SALVADOR DE BAHIA, BRAZIL (By Pedro Silva, Energy Analytics Institute, 10.Feb.2026) — Petrobras‘ P-79 platform, an floating production storage and offloading (FPSO)-type unit, arrived at the Santos Basin pre-salt this weekend, according to the planned schedule. 

The unit — capable of producing 180,000 barrels of oil and compressing 7.2 million m³ of gas per day — was towed to its location with the crew on board, a successful strategy already used with P-78 to reduce the time to start production.
