HOUSTON, TEXAS (Ofelia Paredes, Energy Analytics Institute, 28.Jan.2026, Words: 285) — Australian-based Woodside Energy continues to move forward a number of projects across its global portfolio.
“This is being complemented with strong progress at our major projects, as we continue to grow our business, help meet energy demand and create long-term value,” Woodside acting CEO Liz Westcott said on 28 Jan. 2026 in an official company statement.
Other highlights include:
— at Beaumont new ammonia in Texas, teams achieved first ammonia production in late Dec. Final project commissioning will continue through early 2026, ahead of project completion and handover from OCI Global. Lower-carbon ammonia production is targeted for 2H 2026 following commencement of carbon capture and storage operations;
— momentum also continued at the Scarborough energy project in western Australia, which remains on track to deliver first LNG in 4Q:26. A key milestone was reached earlier this month with the safe arrival of the floating production unit at the Scarborough field, paving the way for hook-up and commissioning activities;
— in Mexico, the Latin American country’s first deepwater oil development, Trion, reached 50% completion by year’s end. Work on the floating production unit (FPU) has moved ahead, with hull assembly finished and all critical equipment now installed on the topside modules. The Trion project continues to target first oil in 2028; and

— at Louisiana LNG, construction advanced on the 3-train foundation phase, which was 22% complete at the end of the quarter. First LNG is targeted for 2029, with the project set to broaden our LNG portfolio and support customers across both the Atlantic and Pacific basins.
