PANAMA CITY, PANAMA (By Piero Stewart, Energy Analytics Institute, 12.Jun.2025, Words: 197) — Today, Colombia is celebrating announcement of the strategic project to explore the geothermal potential of the Azufral volcano, which begins in Nariño, Colombia’s former head at the Ministry of Mines and Energy said in a social media post.
The geothermal study project in Azufral aims to understand the generation potential, estimated at approximately 80 MW of clean energy generation capacity, using the natural heat of the earth.
