PANAMA CITY, PANAMA (Piero Stewart, Energy Analytics Institute, 27.May.2025, Words: 440) — Data released by Colombia’s National Hydrocarbon Agency (ANH by its Spanish acronym), revealed 3P (proven + probable + possible) natural gas potential offshore reached 7.408 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) at year-end 2024. These offshore reserves, when coupled with 3P gas potential onshore of 3.648 Tcf, push Colombia’s total 3P gas potential (offshore + onshore) to 11.096 Tcf, up from 7.506 Tcf at year-end 2023.
Said reserves, especially offshore, could anchor development of a gas hub off Colombia’s Caribbean Sea, the ANH said on 27 May 2025 in its Informe de Recursos y Reservas 2024 or IRR2024 report.
