Statement by USCM on negative impacts of impending US tariffs on Canada and Mexico

HOUSTON, TEXAS (Editors at Energy Analytics Institute, 3.Mar.2025, Words: 579) — The executive committee of the US Conference of Mayors’ (USCM), a nonpartisan organization of cities with populations of 30,000 or more, passed an emergency resolution on 3 Mar. 2025 urging the Trump administration to protect and promote trade relations with Canada and Mexico. 

The USCM stressed that tariffs would also inflict severe economic harm on US businesses and consumers.
