The extreme weather is forecasted to bring freezing temperatures and potential ice accumulation across the greater Houston area starting in the evening hours of 24 Jan. 2026.

“Our teams have activated emergency operations and mobilized thousands of workers to respond to service interruptions caused by the freeze,” CenterPoint announced on 24 Jan. 2026 in an official statement.
