Louisiana attracts investments with over $61bn in energy project announced

BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA (Steve Stewart, Energy Analytics Institute, 19.May.2025, Words: 273) — Louisiana has announced $61bn+ in energy and clean energy projects since Jan. 2024, positioning the US state as the “once and future” leader in energy investment and job creation, according to Greater New Orleans (GNO), Inc. 

Major developments in the state include but are not limited to: Woodside Energy‘s $17.5bn LNG facility in Calcasieu Parish (Louisiana LNG); Meta‘s $10bn AI data center in Richland Parish; and Venture Global‘s $18bn LNG expansion in Plaquemines Parish, the regional economic development nonprofit organization said on 19 May 2025 in an emailed statement.
