Argentina’s YPF eyes Capex of $35.7bn between 2025-2030

ATLANTA, GEORGIA (Chad Archey, Energy Analytics Institute, 11.Apr.2025) — Argentina’s state-owned YPF SA plans total capital expenditure (Capex) outlays of $35.7bn between 2025-2030 as part of the company’s vision to become a Vaca Muerta pure play.

The bulk of the expenditures, which also include allocations on midstream and G&E and corporation activities, will be destined for upstream work in the prolific Vaca Muerta.

To be exact, a whopping 74% of the Capex will be destined to upstream activities as YPF eyes gross hydrocarbon production of around 2,085 thousand barrels of oil equivalent (Mboe/d) by 2030 compared to around 890 Mboe/d in 2024. On a net basis, YPF eyes production of around 1,000 Mboe/d compared to around 536 Mboe/d respectively.
