PANAMA CITY, PANAMA (Piero Stewart, Energy Analytics Institute, 26.Mar.2025) — Authorities with Ecuador’s national government personally visited Esmeraldas after heavy rains there compromised an oil containment dam on the Caple River.
The authorities visited the area to verify work carried out on-site and coordinate further actions for the remediation and compensation phase for local residents, in accordance with current regulations and within the framework of executive decree 577 issued by Ecuador’s president Daniel Noboa.
