(Energy Analytics Institute, 9.Oct.2024) — Petrobras signed the three remaining concession contracts from the 4th Permanent Concession Offer Cycle.

The concessions were acquired in partnership with Shell and CNOOC at the Dec. 2023 public session held by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), Petrobras announced 14 Oct. 2024 in an official statement.

The Rio de Janeiro-based company is operator of the three concessions: Petrobras has a 50% interest along with Shell (30%) and CNOOC (20%).

The signing of the contracts for blocks P-M-1737, P-M-1739 and P-M-1797 concludes Petrobras’ participation in the auction of the 4th Permanent Concession Offer Cycle, in which it acquired a total of 29 concession contracts in the Pelotas Basin.

Signing of these contracts is in accordance with Petrobras’ long-term strategy that aims to diversify its portfolio. The concessions and the signing will also see Petrobras strengthen its position as the main operator of oil fields located in deep and ultra-deep waters.
