PANAMA CITY, PANAMA (Piero Stewart, Energy Analytics Institute, 3.Oct.2024) — Petrobras, following up on the announcements issued on 29 Jul. 2022 and 5 Aug. 2024 on the extension of the gas discoveries in the Uchuva-1 and Uchuva-2 wells, renamed Sirius-1 and Sirius-2, says the gas potential in the discoveries is around 6 Tcf (trillion cubic feet) in place (VGIP).
The discoveries are located in Colombia’s Guajira offshore basin, Petrobras revealed 3 Oct. 2024 in an official statement. And, the commercial viability of the reserves will require further studies.
