(Petrobras, 14.Aug.2023) — Petrobras, regarding the pieces of news published in the media about its participation in Braskem, reaffirms that it is conducting due diligence on Braskem, for the possible exercise of tag along or preemptive rights, in the event of the sale of shares held by Novonor S.A. in the company, according to the rules provided for in the Shareholders’ Agreement signed between Petrobras and Novonor.
It is worth noting that there was no decision by the Executive Board or the Board of Directors regarding the divestment or increase of stake in Braskem, this being only a necessary step for analysis and possible exercise of the rights provided for in the Shareholders’ Agreement.
In this sense, the company clarifies that decisions on acquisitions and divestments are based on careful analysis and technical studies, in compliance with governance practices and applicable internal procedures.
