Petroamazonas EP Gets New Manager Franklin Paredes

(Energy Analytics Institute, 8.Nov.2020) — The Board of Directors of PetroAmazonas EP, led by the Ecuador’s Minister of Energy and Non-Renewable Natural Resources René Ortiz and the Chairman of the Board of the Public Companies Coordinating Company (EMCO EP) José Andrés López, appointed Franklin Paredes Galeas as deputy general manager of the state oil company.

The decision was announced during an extraordinary virtual session, PetroAmazonas announced 8 November 2020 in an official statement.

The appointment was announced after the officials and entities accepted the resignation of Juan Carlos Bermeo Calderón from the position, effective 31 October.

Paredes was born in Puerto Napo in Napo province. He speaks Spanish, Quechua, English, and reads Hebrew and Arabic. Paredes graduated as a geological engineer from the Central University of Ecuador in 1976. He also holds a master’s degree in geosciences realized in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
