PetroEcuador Dispatches Fuel From Barbasquillo

(Energy Analytics Institute, Piero Stewart, 7.May.2020) — EP PetroEcuador on 2 May 2020 started dispatching super gasoline from the Barbasquillo Clean Products Terminal located in Manta in order to satisfy demand in the province of Manabí. The fuel was was previously dispatched from the Pascuales Terminal located in the city of Guayaquil, Guayas.

Approximately 420,000 gallons of super gasoline has been transported through the La Libertad-Manta pipeline to the Barbasquillo Terminal, as part of PetroEcuador’s operational reprogramming to facilitate its services to citizens, the state oil company announced 7 May 2020 in an official statement.

The new distribution scheme prevents inter-provincial monthly trips of nearly 200 tanker traversing between the provinces of Manabí and Guayas, and forms part of the government’s national strategiy in the face of the health emergency provoked by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Barbasquillo Clean Products Terminal, under normal conditions, dispatches around 578,000 gallons per day of fuels but levels are currently at 608,000 gallons per day with the addition of the super gasoline and distributed as shown:

Ecopais gasoline: 236,000,

Premium Diesel: 192,000,

Diesel 2: 150,000 and,

Super gasoline, 30,000 gallons.
