(OTC Brasil, 17.Oct.2019) — Organized by the Brazilian Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels Institute (IBP) and the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), the 5th edition of OTC Brasil takes place 29–31 October at SulAmérica Convention Center. As one sign of improved activity in the Brazilian oil and gas sector, the event expects approximately 15,000 visitors to attend.
More than 180 companies will be exhibiting ground-breaking innovations in 3,400+ square meters of exhibit space. The exhibition will also offer interactive sessions in the newly created arena. The highly anticipated technical program will offer four plenary sessions, 22 special sessions, and 40 technical presentations. This year, the event features the challenges of exploration and production in ultra deep waters of the Brazilian pre-salt, the new gas market regulation in the country, and digital transformation in the sector.
“This is a great opportunity for collaboration and knowledge transfer that are essential to ensure energy will be available for future generations,” says OTC Brasil Chairman Marcos Assayag. The conference is supported by 15 international organizations from the scientific, technological, and engineering fields that work in partnership to develop the industry.
Many offshore E&P executives have confirmed their attendance, including Petrobras CEO Roberto Castello Branco, Total E&P Director Arnaud Breuillac, Chief Global Operations Officer Baker Hughes Uwem Ukpong, BP Energy Brazil CEO Adriano Bastos, Equinor Brazil CEO Margareth Ovrum, and Shell Brazil CEO André Araújo. The Minister of Mines and Energy, Bento Albuquerque, and the director general of the National Agency of Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels (ANP), Décio Oddone, will also be present.
