bp pulse accelerates London’s EV charging network via TfL partnership

LONDON, ENGLAND (By bp 22.Oct.2025, Words: 282) — bp pulse, one of the UK’s leading rapid and ultra-fast EV charging providers, has announced an extension of its long-standing agreement with Transport for London (TfL). The framework agreement, which commenced in 2018, underpins bp pulse’s commitment to delivering reliable, accessible charging solutions across London and the surrounding areas.

The bp pulse and TfL network encompasses over 150 chargers, located across London Boroughs and extending out as far as Watford and Epping Forest. These chargers play a crucial role in supporting the adoption of electric vehicles in the nation’s capital, with a particular focus on providing dedicated infrastructure for the ride-hail and taxi sector.

Highlights:

— TfL will continue to partner with bp pulse allowing reinvestment in on-street rapid charging across London

— the bp pulse and TfL network currently includes over 150 chargers across London and surrounding areas, supporting the city’s growing EV adoption

— a major upgrade program is almost complete, with almost 130 new next-generation chargers already installed and a further five set to go live by end of November.

bp pulse has invested significantly in upgrading the existing charging estate, replacing some of the original units installed in 2018 with the latest charging technology. These next-generation chargers are not only more reliable but are seeing an average increase of 50% in usage compared to older units, demonstrating strong uptake among EV drivers.

Phases 1, 2 and 3 of the upgrade programme are complete, delivering almost 130 new chargers, while Phase 4 (covering a further 5 chargers) is scheduled for completion by end of Nov.

This extensive upgrade programme reflects bp pulse’s wider mission to build a high-quality, dependable public charging network that keeps Londoners moving.
