(Energy Analytics Institute, Piero Stewart, 18.Mar.2020) — Ecuador’s state oil company EP PetroEcuador has begun to implement office protocols to reduce the spread of coronvirus.

Once Ecuador declared a health emergency, PetroEcuador began to implement safety precautions that would allow its activities to continue including those related to signing contracts with foreign companies, the company announced 18 March 2020 in an official company statement.

In a recent tender, the company disinfected all envelopes which included offers from international companies while officials and executives participating in the event were required to use masks and gloves with aim to protect the health of all participants.

Our work cannot be stopped, and we have to take all the security precautions necessary within our company and even with companies that participate in tenders, PetroEcuador General Manager Pablo Flores said in the statement.
