(Energy Analytics Institute, 29.Oct.2024) — CNOOC Limited’s wholly owned subsidiary, CNOOC Africa Holding Ltd., entered into an Exploration, Development & Production Contract (EDPC) with Midland Oil Company (Md.O.C) for Block 7 in Iraq.
Block 7 is mainly located in Province Diwaniyah, with an area of 6,300 km2, CNOOC said 29 Oct. 2024 in an official statement.
Per the terms of the contract, the first stage of the exploration period will span three years.
CNOOC Africa Holding Ltd. holds an 100% interest in Block 7 and operates the block.
